December Photo A Day, Days 3 and 4 - Silver and Tiny

I swear, this was Chelsea's idea

So I yell for Chelsea to come here because I need help with my homework (obviously)...

Me: I want to combine two days to catch up, so I need something silver and tiny. Do you have anything silver and tiny?

Chelsea holds up one finger, turns on her heel, goes to her room, and comes back immediately. WITH A DIME.

A DIME.

When we got done laughing, I said well, okay, and then we took the picture.

Actually, Chelsea took the picture this time. I arranged my blanket (this is the awesome afghan my grandma made for me when I was little, isn't it beautiful?).

So yeah, wow, this picture thing is going great, right? LOL... Such fascinating pictures yall are getting out of me, LOL LOL!!!

  1. Love the colors in your grandmother's blanket, I didn't see the dime at first until I read the post. Now the silver stands out.

    1. I love the colors, too. It's a very big afghan, it covers a queen-sized bed, and Chelsea says she has studied it and she cannot find any repeat colors on it. Chelsea's angling to get my blanket from me, obviously! LOL

  2. I sure like that picture. I'm trying to believe that's an afghan but keep thinking it's some sort of non-Newtonian liquid. Maybe a Roosevelt dime, maybe a Woodrow Wilson one, either can be used to travel in time. Same method I use. I'll wave if we pass each other.

    1. Well, I've had the blanket for 30 years, and it went with me to Germany and back, so it's had lots of experiences. Does the non-Newtonian liquid have anything to do with the dimes ability to be used to travel in time? Chelsea was quick to take her dime back from me. I'll have to make sure I bring my dimes home from work tomorrow!

    2. Sounds promising! I mentioned the Woodrow Wilson Dime in homage to a short story by Jack Finney I read in the '60s. It's about time travel. If you ever run across it, I recommend it highly.

  8. Heck, I love those colors, too. Looks like it might segue into ultraviolet or infrared just out of the frame!

And as far as time-travelling coins go, you can't beat Christopher Reeve's 1979 penny from Somewhere in Time!

    1. I am going to photograph my afghan in its full glory one day just so you all can see its awesomeness!

I've heard of that movie so much and yet I've never seen it. I don't think. My education is so spotty on what I have and haven't seen. :(

    1. Thanks! Yeah, poor little dime, I've always thought it weird that it's so tiny, yet more valuable than the penny and nickel, which are bigger!
