If you were an ocean, I'd learn to float

This is my beautiful living room!

As you can see, I have my priorities straight. 5000 boxes to unpack, but the TV and cable are hooked up! :)

I'm afraid I'll never get back in the swing of things. I can tell I'm missing some awesome posts...there's just so much to do here.

But even though I am frantic to get back online and blogging, and we have so much cleaning and unpacking to do - not to mention worrying about Popa and my brother - still yet the biggest thing I've been feeling is RELIEF.

A little bit of it is that we're done with the move; but really, most of the relief is that the floor-sleeper is gone from our house.

I didn't realize how much his presence was weighing on me until he was no longer there.

I mean, yes, obviously, because I MOVED to get rid of him...but I still didn't realize!

I'm no longer confined to my room. Chelsea keeps her door open. We can walk around the house and talk to each other and joke and laugh and work and argue - all of which we've done this week. We couldn't do that before.

Here's a new list:
1. No more visitors! Ever!

So...I still have a bump on my head from when I fell. And bruises. And hurt feelings because Chelsea laughed at me.

Well, she laughed AFTER she helped me back up the stairs, pulled the remaining branches out of my hair and brushed the twigs off my face, and let me lay down and head-bleed all over my pillow while she made five more trips up and down the stairs getting stuff out of the car.

So I guess I had it coming. And I do fall down a lot. But I mean, two or three days later, I was still pulling thorns out of my head!

She is such a brat.

  1. In completely unrelated news, I'm going to start calling you Emily Dickinson. Incidentally, do you write poetry?

    1. Hi Tony! I do write down small poem-like things, but I'm not sure they could be called poetry, exactly...
Why am I now Emily Dickinson? I'm a big fan of hers...incidentally, LOL.

  2. A sensible list. A moving post! Apart from your tumble, it sounds like all went well.

    1. Well, after the whole moving part was over, things are going well. The actual move was kind of a disaster. But I'm here and that's all in the past, yay!

  4. What a beautiful new place! I'm so very happy for you, and hope being there--without the strain of the floor sleeper--will lead to less migraines and a general sense of peace. Wish I could pop in to help you get all those boxes unpacked, but with your "no visitors" rule, I'm not sure it would work out anyway. ;)

    1. Thank you so much Crystal! I'm hoping so, too - less stress, and no carpet/easier on my allergies - could be a really good thing and help get rid of my migraines. Fingers crossed!

    2. I KNOW. I've had allergy issues too, and I've been told to get rid of the carpets, but I don't like the way tile or hardwood feels. Guess that's why we just have NEW carpet and no pets, eh? In our new house, we're putting in allergen resistant pads and carpet. Yay for us!

    3. My mom has those allergen resistant carpets, they are a nice compromise, and really pretty. :)

    4. And they work? That's great news.

    1. You should have seen me searching for the remote control, I needed it to program that monstrous TV thing, I went through a zillion boxes before I found it! I had to get everything plugged in and ready for basketball! LOL

  7. What's odd about all those boxes when you move is that you don't even remember what's in them and you don't miss anything. At least that's what happens to me. I still have some unpacked stuff from 1998. I'm sure it's very important.
Man, that was a bad fall you took. Wow.

    1. Sooo true. There were still boxes, UNPACKED, from my last move, in my bedroom closet, that I discovered when we were packing. I went ahead and brought them on over. They were books, of course. I'd say 75% of our boxes are books, LOL.

  8. Wow, hang in there. Nothing like people in our lives to offer support and laugh at us at the same time-haha.

I like your no visitors rule as well.

    1. LOL, yeah, she's a keeper!

I think it's a good rule. :) My mom has so far ignored it, though. She keeps coming over. I don't think she understands.

  9. Well, you have to have the television on to keep you company while you unpack. Much better than the previous company you had who just wouldn't leave. At least you can turn the TV off! =P

    1. I know!!! Previous company would never shut up!
The TV is awesome, we have so missed it...it was in the living room at the old apartment, where the floor-sleeper was, so we never got to use it...

I know, just me saying it sounds ridiculous.

  11. After spending a busy day with the things that have to be accomplised, it seems to relieve stress to plop down to a favorite TV show or for me, it's the news. The boxes aren't going to run away so it's OK to let them get acquainted with the new house for a while. Ha

  12. I'm so happy you have your (new) house to yourself! Mitch, please accept my blessings over your new digs. I speak over your door renewal, re-energization, healing and vigor! I see something aggressive, but in a good way. Like a warrior spirit clearing the way for something of unprecedented power! That's what I see. :)

    1. Thank you so much Suze! It's a really foreign feeling...this kind of energy and happiness I have here. I haven't felt it in a long time. There's still a lot of work to do on the place (no a/c!), but renewal is the perfect word. :)

  14. I say do what you have to do, and worry about blogging when you are more settled. You may have to start with a clean slate when you get back, but that's okay. :)

I so hate to be away...I feel terribly guilty and I miss everything! But work, migraines and 500 unpacked boxes have completely overtaken my life. :(

  15. Love that you have your priorities in order--the TV! Awesome! Lol.

Good luck getting settled, it may take a while so don't feel overwhelmed if you don't have everything unpacked in a jiffy. We moved a year ago, and I'm finally now feeling pretty settled. And no more falls! :)

    1. I went down to the basement by myself for the first time yesterday and nearly crashed to the bottom...the staircase is dark and spooky and I completely missed the last step.

I think maybe I have a problem with stairs.
