Fifteen pills.

I counted 'em. All in all, I will have swallowed fifteen pills today.

I say 'will have' because I haven't taken the Ambien yet.

I get made fun of often by my friends and family. I'm low-key, laid back, and I speak slowly. I have a southern slur. When I talk to customers over the phone who are from New York, I can hear their impatience. "Will she ever get this sentence out?!" LOL...

I say 'wow' and 'cool' a lot.

The point is, everyone thinks I'm on drugs. And I am. But not the kind that everyone thinks I'm on.

And the realization that today I will have swallowed fifteen pills has me just a little down.

Yes, I was hospitalized twice last year. But I'm getting stronger every day. I'm making a comeback. Do I REALLY need all this?

I don't want to be an idiot who starts feeling better, stops taking her medicine, and then has a catastrophe happen.

So...never mind then. Carry on.

On a completely unrelated note, I wonder if doctors get some kind of kickback from pharmaceutical companies?

  2. That last note, yep. Especially the drug reps. Ever see a drug rep try and bring in new business? Give you food that will cause a heart attack while they try and sell you a pill to prevent it lol hopefully you can cut that down soon

    1. I have seen that, lol. The unhealthiest lunches, always.
That's my goal, to get to where I can safely cut back.

  3. Take whatever your doctor thinks will keep things manageable and adjust it according to that collaboration. As to accent, New Yorkers --like all city dwellers-- tend to talk fast, whereas rural folks speak slower, as a rule, and more deliberately. Most of my relatives live in Oklahoma and, until I get used to their speech-cadence, sound like they're slipping in and out of consciousness, but I know them to be intelligent and efficient people. Don't worry about it.

    1. Thanks, Geo. Yes!, that's what I sound like...LOL. There's a reason why outsiders call Louisville, Loueyville, and people who live here call it Loouhvul, or, Loovull, or Lvoolll...we southern slur it as much as possible!

  4. For every five pills you swallow, make sure you give Chelsea a hug (and, of course, get one from her.) All kinds of important chemicals get released into the bloodstream when hugged and hugging. There's my suggestion box offering.

xx (or perhaps I should say oo)

My sister has gone! *Sniff* Perhaps next time she is in, there will be an opportunity to analyze whatever handwriting sample you can post.

  5. Good idea!! I already make her stay with me while I take them all because I HATE it so much...she really does make it slightly less traumatic. :)

I'm so sorry your sister left! :( I'll definitely have to get something posted by then.

    1. I totally agree! I started my plan to cut back last night, when I halved the dosage on one of them. I'm calling my neuro today to let her know. :)

  7. Know yourself.
    Gradual.
If cutting back will hurt, stop.

    1. I agree. I spent the whole weekend researching the benefits and side effects of these pills, and which ones I could possibly do without. I'm desperate to be off them, but I also want to be safe. :)

  8. Recovering after a major health complication can be so difficult. I'm like you, I want to jump the gun because I'm suddenly feeling somewhat okay again. I did that with my allergy pills (apparently I'm completely allergic to Florida) and ended up knocked out for five days. Stay with it woman, and do the best you can along the way, eh? You'll get there!
