Top 1 reason against Lasik...

The big fuzzy, floating balls of lights that I see when I don't have my glasses on.
It's especially impressive when I'm riding on the highway at night (as a passenger, of course!), and during Christmas time.  You have a Christmas tree, and then, take off your glasses and poof!
You have no tree, just a tiered, multicolored, beautiful fuzzy thing.
Why would I want this to go away?

  1. Hi,

I am just wondering if you have had Lasik.  I am not quite clear on this.  I once thought of it and I was thinking of the risks involved and off course the cost since insurance does not pay for this.

    Hugs,
    Anita

  2. Ha! I hadn't really thought about this "loss". But it IS kind of cool at night and when looking at twinkle lights and candles with glasses off. But I think I would like being able to see the clock on my nightstand and the rest of my room as soon as I open my eyes in the morning even better. To bad I am too chicken to let someone cut my eyes! eeeek. freak out. -B

  4. No! No Lasik for me...1) I'm a big chicken, and 2) I like seeing things that 20/20 people will never know about.

  6. honestly i have thought about lasik surgery more than once.  i'm nearsighted.  it would be so wonderful to be able to look at the world in a clearer way.  but i too am worried about lasers being aimed at my eyes.  my luck is that they would "slip" and i'd be blind forever.  i'd be rich of course from suing their ass, but i'd still be blind.  not a good trade off, i'm thinking.
