Adolescence (sigh)...Can I hang on?

We're late for school and work in the morning because my daughter can't put the kitty down.  She's late going to bed at night because she can't put the kitty down.  The poor kitty has to grab her sleep where she can...the minute C leaves the house, I swear I can see the kitty heave a big sigh of relief...
But seriously, my daughter at 13 is sooo much harder to deal with than she was at 12.  How many more years of this do I have to survive?  I looked in the mirror the other day and nearly died, I suddenly have WRINKLES, thanks to her...
For the last month all I've done is work, get into arguments with my teenage (oh. my. goodness) daughter, and play with my sweet adorable kitty...at least MY KITTY doesn't talk back to me!
Here she is:

My innocent little kitty, who NEVER gets in trouble... :)

I decided that I'm not going to let my J grow into a teen.  No.  He's going to stay my cute little boy forever!!  I have sooo much to learn ;o)

  7. I hate to break it too you, but Rain is 17 and she is till sucking the life out of me! lol Hang tough. I told her tonight she was easier to deal with at 5, at least then when I said enough, she'd listen. Now she just laughs and keeps aggravating me. But again, I have to be thankful because at 17 at least I know where she's at everynight, she doesn't go out with friends, and her grades are good. So I guess the gray hair and wrinkles she's giving me could be alot worse. Just keep repeating after me... Someday I will miss this.... Someday I will miss this! lol

  8. Michelle,
    Cute cat....
Hey, I just ran across your journal while searching for something totally unrelated...(gotta love those key words, huh?)  And I just wanted to say, I hope everything worked out for your daughter.  I don't have any kids of my own (yet, unfortunately), but I have worked with kids who were bullied, or had other issues in school, and I know it can be very emotionally draining for them.  I think just knowing that you are there for her in any way will help your daughter get through it.  I have worked with kids whose parents weren't able to advocate for their own kids, and that can be really rough.
If you ever want to drop me aline, I'd love to hear how its going.
