Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies
If you don't already know about Flogging Molly, you should! They're just your average everyday Celtic punk band, based out of LA, with a red-haired Irishman for a lead singer. Buy their stuff!
Okay, now, funeral song...
Really?
Isn't this a little maudlin? A lot maudlin?
There's no way, in real life, that I would pick a song to play at my funeral. That's just weird.
But for the sake of the list, here you go:
I'm not sure what song I would want played at my funeral. I think funerals are for the living so I'd let them pick.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is a very strange category.
DeleteNice song. When I depart, I'll check in to the hospital and not tell anyone. They'll look around, "I need lunch...where'd she go?"
ReplyDeleteSusie, you are so funny. :)
DeleteMichelle, how fast can you type? Fast, I bet.
DeleteLOL, why?
DeletePretty fast, I think. Last time I tested at work was quite a few years ago, about 85 wpm.
I thought so.
DeleteWhyyyyyy? I'm so curious...
DeleteYeah I agree, weird. I don't want a funeral anyway, burn me, stick me in a tin can then use me for kitty litter for all I care lol
ReplyDeleteKitty litter! That would be handy, that stuff is expensive. And heavy, LOL.
DeleteAs funeral songs go, this is a pretty groovy choice :)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I love this band...
DeleteOkay. Strange thing I'm getting ready to type on this post about dying but here goes.
ReplyDeleteOne of my best friends (recently divorced) has been having an affair with a married man for going on six years, now. For four of those years, I lent a sympathetic ear but grew increasingly grieved and uncomfortable at the static, destructive loop she was in. One Christmas, she wanted to buy him a guitar signed by a member of Flogging Molly off eBay and asked if she could deposit $400 in my account so that I could purchase it for her. I'll leave it to you to guess whether or not I did ...
There's my crazy comment on your post, my dear Mitch.
I officially don't even know what to say. Except that the married cheater man who has been stringing your friend along for six years has good taste in music. But...wow.
DeleteYee-ah.
DeleteI love, love, love this song. I went to Ireland in September and was blessed with all sorts of Celtic music. You should check out Pulses of Tradition, a local County Cork group who sing, play and dance and they're funny as hell, too. I so wish they would tour the States. I think they'd make it big here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I just followed them on Twitter and I'm listening to them on their website now, I like! :)
